At 14forty Scouting, every evaluation begins with a scout in the gym. We’ve built a nationwide network of basketball enthusiasts who share one goal — to document the game and provide college coaches with trusted, courtside evaluations.
Why Scouts Matter
College coaches can’t be everywhere. High school gyms, tournaments, and showcases happen every day across the country. That’s where our scouts step in. By attending games, taking detailed notes, and following our evaluation standards, you help ensure that players get fair, consistent recognition — and that coaches get the insight they need.
The 14forty Process
- Attend Games & Events – Watch high school basketball live in your area.
- Document Performances – Use our evaluation format to capture skills, measurables, and standout moments.
- Submit Reports – Your evaluations are entered into our system and reviewed before being published to the database.
- Support Coaches – Every evaluation you submit helps build a clearer picture for college coaches nationwide.
Become a Certified 14forty Scout
We want our network to be more than volunteers — we want professionals who are trained, consistent, and respected. To ensure quality and accuracy, every scout must complete the 14forty Certification Program.
Our certification program covers:
- Evaluation standards and grading system
- What to look for in player development
- Compliance guidelines (NCAA rules and ethics)
- Reporting tools and submission process
